Eligibility for Sauna Use

You must not enter the sauna if you:

  • Suffer from high or low blood pressure, heart or circulatory disorders, epilepsy or diabetes.
  • Have any other medical conditions that may be aggravated by sauna use.
  • Are pregnant.
  • Are prone to dizziness, fainting, or any other conditions that may impair your ability to use the sauna safely.
  1. Sauna Rules and Regulations

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience at Sauna Snug, all patrons must adhere to the following rules:

  • Personal Safety: All jewellery must be removed, and swimsuits with metal components, slimming panels, or items that may cause burns are prohibited. Metal cans and glass water bottles are not permitted in the sauna. Do not touch the sauna stones or the sauna itself at any time as they are extremely hot and can cause severe burns.
  • Towel Requirement: You are required to bring a clean, cotton towel to sit on in the sauna. Failure to bring a towel will result in denial of entry to the sauna.
  • Slip Hazard: Exercise caution when entering or exiting the sauna, plunge pools, lake access, and surrounding areas, as they may be wet and slippery. Move carefully within the sauna, as the benches and floors may also be wet and slippery.   • Dress Code: Appropriate attire includes swimsuits, swimming togs, or bikinis. Clothing must be free from metal components and suitable for sauna use.
  • Phone-Free Zone: Our saunas are designated as a phone-free zone to foster relaxation. Mobile phones and cameras must be kept outside the sauna area.
  • Water/Steam Pour on Sauna Stones: You may only pour one small spoonful of water on the sauna stones every 10-15 minutes. Over-pouring can reduce the sauna’s temperature and adversely affect other users’ experience. Adding oils to the sauna water is strictly prohibited. Do not attempt to touch the stones or the sauna itself. For any issues, contact a staff member immediately.
  • No Eating or Alcohol: Sauna Snug is an alcohol-free facility. Alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited. Food is also banned from within the sauna. Consumption of food or beverages in the sauna is not permitted.
  • Showering: Always shower before using the plunge pools or lake. Rinse off after returning from the lake before re-entering the sauna. Additionally, if you are wearing fake tan or lotions, rinse off thoroughly before entering the sauna.
  • Body Care: Do not use creams or lotions in the sauna. These can create slippery conditions, clog pores, and result in a slip hazard. Protect your hair with a towel or turban. Sauna whisks are also not permitted.
  • Cooling Down & Hydration: After leaving the sauna, cool down gradually with cooler air or a cold shower. To prevent dehydration, drink water and take electrolytes.
  • Temperature & Duration: Limit sauna sessions to 15-20 minutes. Always listen to your body and exit the sauna immediately if you experience dizziness, nausea, or light-headedness.
  • Age Restriction: All public sauna sessions are strictly for individuals aged 16 and over. If you wish to bring individuals under the age of 16, you must book the entire sauna session as a private booking.
  • Supervision: Children must be accompanied and continuously supervised by an adult at all times while on the premises. The adult supervising the child is fully responsible for ensuring that the child adheres to all rules and safety guidelines.
  • Fire Safety: Hanging clothes to dry inside the sauna is prohibited due to fire risk. If using a wood-burning heater, do not leave the sauna unattended.
  • Post-Sauna Rest: Allow yourself at least 15 minutes to rest in a cool place after your sauna session to aid recovery. This is particularly important before driving.
  • Respect and Courtesy: Be considerate of other patrons’ personal space and avoid crowding. Keep noise levels to a minimum to ensure a pleasant environment for everyone.
  • Time Management: Adhere to your allocated time slot.
  • Right of Refusal: Sauna Snug reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any individual from the premises at its sole discretion.
  • Cancellation Policy: A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required for cancellations.
  • Change Policy: A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for any changes to bookings.
  • Missed/Late/No-Shows: 100% of the total booking fee will be charged for missed, late, or no-show appointments.

Lake Use for Cooling Off

  • Lake Access: Patrons are permitted to access the nearby lake for cooling off after sauna use. Entry into the lake is at your own risk.
  • Supervision: Children must be accompanied by an adult while using the lake. Adults are fully responsible for ensuring their children adhere to all safety guidelines.
  • Slip Hazard: The lake’s edges and steps may be slippery. Use caution when entering or exiting the water.
  • Swimming Ability: Patrons must ensure they are confident swimmers before entering the lake. Sauna Snug is not liable for any accidents, injuries, or drowning incidents.
  • Temperature Awareness: Be mindful of the lake’s temperature. Cold water immersion can cause shock or fainting. Always enter the water gradually and exit immediately if you feel unwell.
  • Health Advisory: Individuals with heart conditions, circulatory issues, or cold-related health concerns should consult a doctor before using the lake for cooling off.
  • No Lifeguard on Duty: There are no lifeguards on duty. Lake use is entirely at your own risk.
  • Lake Cleanliness: Please respect the lake environment. Do not leave litter or personal items near the lake.

Assumption of Risk and Liability

By using Sauna Snug, you agree to the following:

  • Acknowledgement of Risks: You acknowledge and accept that sauna use, lake use, plunge pool use, and activities on the premises involve inherent risks.
  • Health Representation: You represent and warrant that you are in good health and do not have conditions contraindicated for sauna or lake use.
  • Release of Liability: You release Sauna Snug, its owners, employees, agents, and affiliated parties from any and all liability for any incidents.
  • Waiver of Claims: You waive any claims against Sauna Snug for injuries or damages resulting from sauna or lake use.

By entering Sauna Snug or using the lake, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions.
